Celebrate America with 8 NoVA eateries serving Fourth of July brunches

While brunch is typically a weekend affair, these Northern Virginia spots are switching things up by offering brunch-style cuisine on a very special Thursday—the Fourth of July. Here, we share where to go for breakfast favorites, lunch bites and everything in between this Independence Day.  

Jackson 20
6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
This restaurant, found inside boutique hotel The Alexandrian, has experienced recent changes, including the addition of executive chef Peter McCall, new menus and brunch available every day of the week. On the morning of the Fourth, try out classic dishes like buttermilk fried chicken and waffles and McCall’s signature White Lily biscuits with apple butter, inspired by his Southern roots. // Jackson 20: 480 King St., Alexandria; prices vary

Ambar Clarendon
9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
From the mezze platter to the pulled pork eggs Benedict, Ambar Clarendon has a variety of Balkan-inspired dishes for the whole table to share. It’s $35 for unlimited brunch plates and there are 25-cent drink offerings, which includes mimosas, bellinis, bloody marys and more. // 2901 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; $34

Vintage Restaurant Group
11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Vintage Restaurant Group’s four NoVA eateries—Ragtime, Rhodeside Grill, Dogwood Tavern and William Jeffrey’s Tavern—will be hosting brunch on the Fourth of July and through the weekend. Expect a do-it-yourself bloody mary bar, patriotic cocktail specials and churro doughnuts. // Locations and prices vary

Whitlow’s on Wilson
11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Whitlow’s on Wilson will be offering its weekend brunch buffet starting at 11 a.m. this Independence Day. In addition to the usual spread of food items like snow crab legs, homemade mac and cheese and a waffle bar, there will be a $14 make-your-own-mimosa special. Following the meal, head upstairs to the rooftop tiki bar, opening at noon on the Fourth. // Whitlow’s on Wilson: 2854 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; $40 plus tax

All-You-Can-Eat Brunch at Sushi Rock
11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Sushi Rock is celebrating America’s birthday with an all-you-can-eat assortment of appetizers, specialty and classic rolls, as well as chef’s choice sashimi bowls, all for $25. Plus, all specialty cocktails on the drink menu will be $5. // Sushi Rock: 1900 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington; $25
